Compromised Accounts
We never want to see an account get compromised. A compromise may still occur though when a user shares their password or personal information with another individual or website, sometimes inadvertently.

Some other rare causes of compromises occur when a user doesn't take adequate steps to protect the security of their account, personal information, third party account access, computer access, or by making their password easily guessable or shared across different platforms.

If you experience an account compromise please contact our customer support team as soon as possible. Please see this post about how to contact support and what information to include. Our customer support team will make every effort to restore a compromised account to it's verified original registered user in a timely manner.

When possible we will also restore characters that were deleted during a compromise. However, due to certain technical reasons we are not always able to restore characters or items. We do not provide restorations if there is evidence of sharing that lead to a compromise.
  • KingsIsle Customer Support e-mail will always be an email sent from Kingsisle.com, Kingsislemail.com, Wizard101.com, or Pirate101.com – remember to roll over the sender’s address to make sure this is the correct email source. We will never email from gmail.com or any other site than our own (one exception being kingsisle.community@gmail.com for our Extra Credits program).

  • Do not buy Gold, Crowns, Bundles or Subscriptions from any other site but www.wizard101.com or www.pirate101.com. More about this here.

  • Do not share your account information with anyone! It doesn’t matter how good of a friend someone may be, once you share your password, your reputation and your wizard are at risk!

  • Use a unique username/password combination for every account you own. Do not use the same username or password more than once!

  • Use 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) on all platforms where possible! We are looking into the possibility of incorporating it into Wizard101 and Pirate101 but this is uncertain and still being investigated.

  • Any website or social media user offering you Crowns, Memberships and items for free or at a discount should not be trusted. Our Official Fansites are an exception, as we provide them with the codes directly, and they run contests and promotions with our knowledge and permission.

  • Anyone that asks for your password is clearly doing nothing more than trying to steal from you. KingsIsle will never ask you for your password - we don't need it!

  • Anyone that asks you to download a program to cheat at the game is cheating you, and they may be stealing more than just your Wizard101 account information!

  • Be careful using quick-chat programs like Discord. Don't click on links unless you are sure they are from a safe source!

  • If it seems to good to be true, it's probably an exploit or fraud. Don’t fall for it, it will cost you your account, your characters, your pets and all your other hard-earned game rewards.

  • Theft is never ok, and players found to be in receipt of stolen goods will be sanctioned. It is up to you to keep your account information private, and if your account is found purchasing or interacting with any of these fraudulent websites or users then your account will be sanctioned. Once again, if it seems too good to be true, it's probably an exploit or fraud.

  • To be clear, giving someone else your account information is account sharing. This violates the Terms of Use and will result in your account being banned. You are fully responsible for all activities conducted through your account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for any use of your password to gain access to your account and your account information.

Watch Out For 'Generators' and 'Spoofing'!

First, some players have distributed software they claim to be "account generators" or "Crown Generators." Please note that this software is malware. Embedded in the code of these programs are hidden tools that will compromise your account and possibly even your computer! Do not trust these programs.

Second, this new method is very convincing and can lead to the permanent loss of your account.

If you receive an unsolicited email from help@kingsisle.com or some other email address that appears to be KingsIsle, make sure you roll your mouse over the email address and/or select it to make sure this isn’t a “spoofed” email address that is actually coming from someone other than KingsIsle. Sometimes the name can read “help@kingsisle.com” but the real email address can be something completely different.

Never give anyone your password, even us! KingsIsle will NEVER ask for your password. That’s a dead giveaway that you’re not talking to someone from KingsIsle.

Use a unique username/password combination for every account you own. Do not use the same username or password more than once!

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Though we love to give our players codes for free items and hold fan site contests, KingsIsle Support wouldn’t send you a $60 gift certificate code as a mistake, then retract that offer, and then offer it to you again in exchange for personal information like passwords and credit card numbers. Unfortunately, that’s an actual account of what’s happened to one of our players! Be safe!

A reminder that account sharing is against the Terms of Use and can result in a sanction.

If you have questions about whom to contact about a specific issue please see our post here.

Thank you for keeping your accounts safe and being wise to petty thieves on the Internet.
