Even though I completed Triton Avenue a long time ago, after this update I can no longer use the teleporter to get to Kraken Isle, and Sohomer Sunblade now has a yellow quest mark above his head.
I believe they revised that quest with this FTUE update. You should try it out and see if it unlocks the Kraken for you. It did for me and found it quite lovely doing that altered side quest in Triton Ave.
