I was helping some friends quest in the Plaza of Conquests since I was a higher level and when we defeated the Earth Elemental and it counted the quest for one of my friends but not the other one. All three of us were in the duel. We did it again and it worked. Does it have something to do with who summoned it?

All three of us were in the duel. We did it again and it worked. Does it have something to do with who summoned it?
If I remember correctly, the quest specifically tells you to summon the Earth Elemental, in which case everyone with the quest has to summon the boss using the crystal stand.
